Swiggy began operations in August 2014 with a few restaurants in Bengaluru. The first Hunger Saviors came into action to deliver food within 40 minutes. Shortly after, Swiggy upraised its first round of funding and launched the app in May of 2015.

Trailblazing:
Swiggy launched a subscription based programme called Super Swiggy where the customers enjoy unlimited free deliveries. SUPER Swiggy will have no surge fees on orders placed during the rain. They also came up with Swiggy POP which customised with items like bowl meals, Indian Thalis, burgers, biryani etc for working professionals looking for fixed meals.

Along with the expansion from Bengaluru to other cities, there is continuous development and innovation. In 4 years they have a network in 60 cities with tie ups of 55,000 restaurants.
